I have no experience building things, but think it would be pretty easy to make a 4ft x 12ft raised bed for my vegetable garden. I want it about 18" deep. Any blueprints or ideas out there? I don't have a drill and can have Home Depot cut the wood to size for me. Thanks!!
I have read many articles that suggest using old tires for container gardening. My father is considering making a vegetable garden out of tires. Does the tire pollute the soil and there fore the vegetables? I it is bad to burn tires.. Should I be concerned about the quality of the vegetables? Have you seen any scientific evidence about this topic? Or environmental tests?
I'm trying to justify the cost of starting a corporate vegetable garden onsite for a business. I would like my argument to include rolling the cost of a lawn service being paid to maintain the grounds into the cost for starting up/maintaining the garden... which would actually give something back to the business over time. Any ideas on what a commercial full-care lawn service would charge by the square foot... or how it is calculated? Thanks
I don't want to mow grass inside the fence but grass grew up through our old fence and encroached on my vegetables and bent the fencing. We have to till the ground each year inside fence and don't want the tiller caught in fence or ground covers. thanks
I was looking for vegetables that are suited to zone 7b with a touch of icy winters .
I wanted to know mainly what vegetables would be good to plant, but if you have an idea of what some good plants to plant in the front yard I don't have a problem hearing about that to. And any gardening tips would be helpful. Thanks a million!
Tell me everything you think makes a good butterfly garden!
I have little gardening experience, and want a website that tells you everything, from the soil, what vegetables grow best under certain conditions, fencing the garden off, etc. Thanks in advance! This is in Sydney, Australia if that makes any difference.
For my ICT project, I've decided to investigate and develop a gardening website, but im not really sure what you would want from one - What kind of information should I include on the website? How frequently would you want a newsletter? Would you want it by post or by e-mail? Is there any good websites already out there (links please!!)? and if there's anything else you want to say about it thanks a lot xx
I just moved to Louisiana, zone 8b. My fiance and I bought a house that has just been built and is in desperate need of gardening and landscaping. I'm a beginner and need some easy, pretty, layout ideas. What are some websites and/or books that would help a beginner like me in this particular area? For example, I heard there are TWO growing seasons. Okay, I'm from northern Indiana, and we barely had one full growing season! Heh! What is the second growing season for? I also want to have a vegetable garden. Can anyone offer me any advice?? Thanks!!
