I have a small patch of land outside my apartment, big enough to plant a few small bushes and trees, and to set up a small table and chairs for lounging in the sun. I want to start a rock garden, and I need some creative suggestions for which types of plants, trees or flowers to plant. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Thanks Primoa! i live in Newfoundland, an island off the east coast of Newfoundland. Canada, I mean! lol
I have already rotaty hoed the garden. there are lots of small rocks and stone and now I want to remove all. Any better ideas then picking.
I have a Japanese rock garden (or Zen Garden) in my backyard. The plan was for it to be gravel with a small herb garden. But the grass that was originally there keeps popping up through all my defenses! I have tried weed-matting and poisons. Is there any other ideas behind keeping anything from growing?
i have some small rock left over from my fish tank can I use that instaed of sand or gravel in the bottom of my Terrarium?also half the sites I read say that I should put moss over the rocks and then out the soil on, but the other half don't say anything about moss. Can I do it without moss? And if not does anyone have any idea how expensive a little moss is? Thanks
I am trying to plant a small vegetable garden, but the plot has been overrun for a few years with dandelions and crab grass. It's basically carpeted in weeds! What's the best way to get rid of them? I thought about chemical weed killers, but I don't know how long I'll have to wait to be able to plant veggies and have them survive. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
I have searched and searched online, and found some very intersting ideas on how to make them, and found some small rocks, but I am having trouble putting it all together. There isn't really any stores around so I can place the rocks together before buy them. I don't want anything too heavy, so I am kind of ruling out real stone. I need more hiding places for my fish!!! I am hoping someone knows of a website that I haven't come across.
I have seen desk waterfalls for sale, and of course plans. But I'm thinking almost a mini-tank with a few water plants, with a waterfall that falls into it, with rocks around it. Wouldn't that be fantastic to have on your desk?! Any ideas on where to buy such a thing? Or to buy something that I could easily modify? Or how to build one? Thanks!
The leaves look dry and brown at the edges but some of the roots have root rot. These are my work plants and I'm starting to get blamed for killing them. I have no idea what I am doing and half of them are sitting in a pot that has a ton of small rocks sitting on top so it's hard to feel the soil. I only water them once a week and they still seem to be wet. What the heck is going on and what do I do? Thanks in advance!
the home I bought has a desert landscraping theme, that has not been kept up and is growing wildly. It has large and small rocks and cactus growing everywhere, I would like to redesign the position of the rocks (maybe in clusters) and maybe plant ground covers in between the craves of the rocks, need ideas.
It's for a small patio in our front yard, wanting a bunch of small rocks and one large one maybe about 3 feet long and two feet high? And a buch of small ones...Where do I buy this stuff?
