What would I charge hourly to weed, edge, and generally clean up a flower garden?
I've been asked to get a flower garden back in shape for a small backyard. I have no idea what to charge. I think it will take about a day to complete and I live in Canada so would like Canadian rates.
Details:
- Ask the customer what they think is fair. This being your first job, it's more important to build a reputation than to extract the maximum fee.
- You could charge hourly or per job.
If it's hourly, maybe 8 Canadian dollars per hour would work?
For one job, maybe 25$.
I find that if you ask the person "What do you think is fair?" they will give you a fair number.
- Depending on your area and the cost of living there, you could charge around $10-12 (US) per hour, if you're a beginner. If you have more experience and education in the field, you could charge up to $20-25 (US) per hour.
- Depends on where you are in Canada. I have landscaped at different places in this country. I would be at least twice the gov't minimum wage. Ontario minimum wage is 10 per hour. Alberta is over 9 per hour. 15 to 20 per hour is reasonable. Experienced gardeners charge more than that in this country.
You could flat rate the job as well. A couple of hundred for the day including clean up and a dump run.
Good luck to you.
